## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) UNCERTIFICATED PILOT TOOK OFF FROM AN AIRPORT IN AN UNREGISTERED, UNCERTIFICATED AIRCRAFT WITH THE FLAPORONS FULLY EXTENDED. THE AIRCRAFT CLIMBED TO 100 FEET BUT BEGAN TO SETTLE BACK TO THE GROUND. ATTEMPTS TO ADJUST THE FLAP SETTING WERE DIFFICULT BECAUSE OF THE POSITION OF THE FLAP CONTROL AND THE EXTREME NOSE DOWN FORCES ON THE AIRCRAFT DURING THE TAKEOFF. THE UNCERTIFICATED PILOT ELECTED TO LAND IN A PASTURE OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE GROUND WAS MUDDY, THE NOSE OF THE UNCERTIFICATED, UNREGISTERED AIRCRAFT DUG IN, THE MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS RIPPED OFF AND THE RIGHT WING WAS DAMAGED DURING THE OFF AIRPORT LANDING. THERE WAS NO FIRE AND THERE WERE ONLY MINOR INJURIES TO THE PILOT.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
