## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT LANDING ON PRIVATE AIRSTRIP IMPACTED BRANCHES OF TREE LOCATED 100 FEET BEYOND CENTERLINE OF RUNWAY WITH LEFT WINGTIP. AERODYNAMIC EFFECT OF IMPACT AND MINIMUM CONTINUOUS AIRSPEED CAUSED AIRCRAFT TO DESCEND 60 FEET TO IMPACT POINT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI06CA171](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI06CA171), Jun 27, 2006: Croke Zenith CH 701 (N701US), Brussels, WI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot not maintaining clearance from the trees during final approach. The trees located along the final approach course were a factor in the accident.

## Other reports on N701US (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 20031016029249A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/20031016029249A), Oct 16, 2003: Amtr ZENITHCH701 (N701US), Brussels, WI, Destroyed. (-23) Amateur built aircraft in flight test phase. During go around engine did not develop full RPM. Aircraft settled into trees.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
