## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) APPROXIMATELY TWO MINUTES AFTER A NORMAL TAKE OFF AND CLIMB FROM RUNWAY 23 THE PILOT REPORTS HEARING A LOUD BANG OR POP FOLLOWED BY A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. AN EMERGENCY LANDING WAS MADE IN A GRASS FIELD IN WHICH THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED ON ITS LANDING GEAR WHEELS FOR ABOUT 500 FEET, STRUCK A FENCE AND CAME TO A STOP IN A DRAINAGE DITCH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DEN06LA094](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DEN06LA094), Jun 30, 2006: Cessna 180 (N153M), Sheridan, WY, substantial damage. Probable cause: the partial loss of engine power for undetermined reasons. Contributing factors were the dirt embankment and fence.

## Other reports on N153M (2)

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
