## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 7/7/2006 THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OM^ WAS PIC AS PART OF RENTAL CHECKRIDE IN N6591J; CFI WAS ^PRIVACY DATA ^. THEY TOOK OFF FROM KTMB TO PRACTICE MANEUVERS AND PERFORMED SOME TOUCH AND GOES ON RUNWAY 9 AT X51. THE CFI PULLED POWER BACK TO IDLE TO SIMULATE ENGINE FAILURE AND NOTIFIED PILOT. ON SHORT FINAL THEY WERE GETTING LOW AND CFI ASKED PILOT IF THEY WERE GOING TO MAKE IT, WHEN PILOT TRIED TO TURN TO RUNWAY 18. AS THEY WERE TOO LOW TO RECOVER, THE AIRCRAFT STALLED, RIGHT WING HIT GROUND AND SKIDDED TO A STOP ON RUNWAY 18.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
