## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MISHAP PILOT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF TOUCHING DOWN WHEN HE NOTICED ANOTHER AIRCRAFT EXIT THE GRASSY AREA TO THE RIGHT OF THE PAVED RUNWAY AND ENTER THE ACTIVE RUNWAY IN FRONT OF HIM. THE OTHER AIRCRAFT, AN AERONCA CHAMP, TURNED TO THE RIGHT AND TAXIED AWAY FROM THE MISHAP AIRCRAFT AND EXITED APPROXIMATELY MIDFIELD. THE MISHAP AIRCRAFT HAD TOUCHED DOWN AND DID NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT SPEED OR DISTANCE FROM THE OTHER AIRCRAFT TO INITIATE A GO-AROUND. THE MISHAP PILOT APPLIED AGGRESSIVE BRAKING RESULTING IN BOTH MAIN LANDING GEAR TIRES BLOWING OUT AND SUBSEQUENT DAMAGE TO BOTH MAIN LANDING GEAR WHEEL AND BRAKE ASSEMBLIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
