## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT DEPARTED RUNWAY 14 AT CAIRO, ILLINOIS ON POST MAINTENANCE LOCAL FLIGHT. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF HE EXPERIENCED A "LOSS OF THRUST" ON THE LEFT ENGINE. THE PILOT ELECTED TO MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING OFF THE AIRPORT DUE TO THE INABILITY TO MAINTAIN ALTITUDE. NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT OR PASSENGER WERE SUSTAINED DURING THIS EVENT AND THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE AS A RESULT OF THE EMERGENCY LANDING. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
