## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT DEPARTED NON-LICENSED BACKYARD RUNWAY. AT APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET IN THE AIR, THE PILOT STATED THE ENGINE LOST POWER BUT DID NOT QUIT. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO TURN BACK TO THE RUNWAY, AND IN THE PROCESS, STALLED THE AIRCRAFT AND CAME DOWN IN THE NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR'S BACKYARD. THE AIRCRAFT HAD DAMAGE TO OUTBOARD LEFT AND RIGHT WINGS, RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR, AFT AND FORWARD FUSELAGE, ENGINE MOUNT, AND PROPELLER. THE ENTIRE AIRCRAFT'S FIRST IMPACT AND CRASH SITE WAS CONTAINED WITHIN A 15 FOOT PERIMETER. THE INITIAL CONTACT AREA SHOWED SIGNS OF PROPELLER ROTATION. THE CONTINUITY OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS AND ENGINE CONTROLS WAS CONFIRMED. THE AIRCRAFT HAD FUEL IN THE TANK, LINES, AND CARBURETOR. THE ENGINE ROTATED FREELY AND HAD COMPRESSION.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
