## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT N39DD A CESSNA 340 SERIES AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIING OUT FROM THE FBO WHEN THE PILOT TURNED ONTO A VEHICLE SERVICE ROAD INSTEAD OF TAXIWAY KILO. AIRCRAFT THEN COLLIDED WITH A VEHICLE INFORMATION SIGN ALONG THE ROADWAY. ATC CONTACTED THE PILOT TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY INJURIES AND IF ANY DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED. PILOT REPORTED NO INJURIES AND THAT THE DAMAGE WAS ESTIMATED TO BE ABOUT $50.00. AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING TIP FUEL TANK POSITION LIGHT LENS. AIRCRAFT WAS REPOSITIONED BACK ONTO THE FBO RAMP BY A TUG TRACTOR AND WAS THEN REBOARDED BY THE PILOT AND 3 PASSENGERS, WITHOUT DAMAGE BEING EVALUATED BY A MAINTENANCE PERSON. AIRCRAFT RECEIVED NEW TAXI CLEARANCE AND PROCEEDED TO TAXI TO RUNWAY 23 WHEN ATC TOWER REQUESTED PILOT TO RETURN TO THE RAMP SO THAT THE GSO FSDO COULD EXAMINE THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT REFUSED TO TURN BACK TO THE RAMP AND PROCEEDED TO DEPART GSO FOR NORFOLK, VA.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
