## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PJ HELICOPTERS INC. CONTRACTED WITH SAN JUAQUIN SHERIFF DEPT. TO CONDUCT RECONNOSCENSE OF MARAJUANA FIELDS. DURING THEIR MISSION THE PILOT INADVERTENTLY CLIPPED A POWER LINE WITH THE TAIL ROTOR. THE PILOT IMMEDIATELY LANDED, INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE MAINTENANCE MANAGER FOR PJ HELICOPTERS AND DETERMINED THE AIRCRAFT REMAINED AIRWORTHY. THE PILOT FLEW THE HELICOPTER TO A NEARBY AIRPORT (TCY) IN TRACY, CA. THE HELICOPTER HAS SUBSEQUENTLY HAD THE ROTOR REPLACED WITH A NEW ROTOR FROM SCHWEITZER. INITIALLY REPORTED AS AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAS BEEN DOWNGRADED TO AN INCIDENT. END OF REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
