## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 7/18/2006, AT APPROXIMATELY 1944 PDT, BEECHCRAFT BE-36 AIRCRAFT, N4785M, CRASHED DURING A HARD LANDING ON RUNWAY 30R, MEADOWS FIELD (BFL), BAKERSFIELD, CA. THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STALLED N4785M OVER THE RUNWAY THRESHOLD CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO ROLL RIGHT AND STRIKE THE RUNWAY ON THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR, WHICH SEPARATED FROM THE AIRFRAME. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE RUNWAY AND SPUN TO THE RIGHT, COMING TO REST IN THE DIRT TO THE RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET BEYOND THE THRESHOLD. THE PILOT AND TWO PASSENGERS WERE NOT INJURED AND EXITED THE AIRCRAFT UNASSISTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX06CA237](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX06CA237), Jul 19, 2006: Beech A36 (N4785M), Bakersfield, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's improper flare, which resulted in a hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
