## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT MADE A FORCED LANDING IN A VACANT FIELD APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES SOUTH OF THE MARINE CITY AIRPORT (76G). IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKEOFF, ON RUNWAY 22, THE AIRCRAFT LOST PARTIAL POWER. IN ORDER TO AVOID HITTING THE HIGH POWER TENSION LINES WHICH ARE APPROXIMATELY 100 FT HIGH, 2800 FT FROM THE END OF RUNWAY 22, THE AIRCRAFT FLEW UNDER THE POWER LINES. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ABLE TO CLIMB ENOUGH TO CLEAR THE AREA'S TREES AND TELEPHONE WIRES. SHORTLY AFTER CLEARING THE TREES AND POLES THE AIRCRAFT WAS SET DOWN IN THE FIELD AT THE SOUTH WEST CORNER OF MARKEL AND STARVILLE ROADS. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE PILOT AND PASSENGER RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES WHICH WERE TREATED AT THE SCENE BY EMS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Probable cause: A loss of engine power due to the partial blocked carburetor fuel screen which resulted in partial fuel starvation and the pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed during the forced landing…

## Other reports on N1026K (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
