## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT ATTEMPTED LANDING WITH FLAPS 10 SELECTED AND AN AIRSPEED REPORTED AT APPROXIMATELY 5 KNOTS HIGH. WHEEL TOUCHDOWN WAS WITH APPROXIMATELY 2000FT OF RUNWAY LENGTH REMAINING. THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO PROPERLY MANAGE THE LANDING AND DECIDED TO PERFORM A GO AROUND. THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO GAIN ALTITUDE AND IMPACTED A 8FT HIGH FENCE AT THE END OF RUNWAY 9 CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT. NOTE: VISUAL FLAP HANDLE POSITION AFTER CRASH WAS AT FLAPS 40.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI06CA198](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI06CA198), Jul 22, 2006: Sargent Bushby Mustang II (N6186C), Troy, MI, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot's delayed decision to go-around leading to the impact with the fence during the go-around. A factor was the fence.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
