(-23) DURING THE APPROACH TO LANDING AT GLACIER STATION (SKAGWAY) THE MAIN ROTOR CLIPPED A TREE TOP AND LOST LIFT. AIRCRAFT MISSED THE LANDING PAD AND ROLLED ON RIGHT SIDE AND UP. PASSENGER WAS TRANSPORTED TO BARTLETT HOSPITAL IN JUNEAU, AK. SHE SUFFERED FROM A CUT ABOVE THE EYE AND WAS BEING CHECKED OUT FOR A POSSIBLE CONCUSSION, BROKEN NOSE AND COLLAPSED NASAL CAVITY. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC06LA100](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC06LA100), Jul 27, 2006: Eurocopter AS 350B2 (N301TH), Skagway, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate clearance from trees while hovering, which resulted in a main rotor strike with trees, an uncontrolled descent, and a collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
