## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JULY 27, 2006, AT APPROXIMATELY 1314 CDT, A CESSNA 140, WAS PERFORMING A SECOND LANDING AT RVS WHEN JUST AFTER LANDING THE TAIL WHEEL SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS LANDING ON RWY 19L AND THE PILOT NOTICED A MODERATE PULL TO THE LEFT (LEFT RUDDER), THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE RWY IN THE GRASS AREA ABOUT 2000 FEET AFTER TOUCHDOWN AND CAME TO A STOP. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED VERY LITTLE DAMAGE (MINOR) TO THE TAIL AREA, AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE FLIGHT WAS CONDUCTED TO PROVIDE TRAINING FOR A TAIL WHEEL ENDORSEMENT AND THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DA^ WAS THE CFI PROVIDING THIS INSTRUCTION. THE PILOT WHO WAS RECEIVING INSTRUCTION STATED TO THE OWNER THAT THE AIRCRAFT HAD A HIGH SINK RATE AND BOUNCED (HAD HARD LANDING).

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
