## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT IS PRESUMED TO HAVE CRASHED ABOUT 12 MILES SOUTH/WEST OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA. NEITHER THE AIRPLANE NOR ITS THREE OCCUPANTS HAVE BEEN LOCATED. THE LOCAL GROUND-BASED RADAR DATA SHOWED THAT THE LAST KNOWN LOCATION OF THE AIRPLANE WAS OVER THE WATERS OF COOK INLET.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC06FAMS1](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC06FAMS1), Jul 29, 2006: Aero Commander 690A (N57096), Anchorage, AK, destroyed, 3 fatal. Probable cause: Undetermined; the airplane and its occupants are missing.

## Other reports on N57096 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19861202077699I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19861202077699I), Dec 2, 1986: Gulstm 690A (N57096), Bennington, VT, Minor damage. Nosewheel failed to fully extend and collapsed on landing rollout.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
