## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER LANDING ON RUNWAY 31 AT SUN (WIND 230 @ 10 GUST TO 17) THE PILOT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO DRIFT TO THE RIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT "GROUND LOOPED" CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING AND ELEVATOR. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE JUST SCREWED UP WHEN HE ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO DRIFT TO THE LEFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA06CA150](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA06CA150), Jul 30, 2006: Cessna 180J (N42401), Hailey, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to adequately compensate for wind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
