## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING THE INTERVIEW OF THE INCIDENT THE PILOT SAID THE FOLLOWING: AT ABOUT 8 P.M. I DEPARTED THE SPRINGFIELD, OH (SGH) AIRPORT AND FLEW TO MY FATHER'S FARM AT THE EDGE OF LONDON, OH, WHERE I HAD CLEARED A PRIVATE LANDING STRIP IN A SOYBEAN FIELD. ON THE FIRST APPROACH TO LANDING I WAS TOO FAST AND DID A GO AROUND. ON THE SECOND APPROACH TO LANDING THE MAIN GEAR CONTACTED SOYBEANS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 75 FEET PRIOR TO REACHING THE GRASS LANDING STRIP. UPON CONTACTING THE GROUND, THE AIRPLANE FLIPPED OVER COMING TO REST ON ITS BACK. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER, ENGINE COWLING, LEFT WING STRUT, VERTICAL FIN AND RIGHT WING LEADING EDGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
