## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON AUGUST 01, 2006, DELTA FLIGHT NUMBER 188, AIRCRAFT N3736C, WHILE ENROUTE FROM NEW YORK, NY, (JFK) TO SAN FRANCISCO, CA, (SFO), THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED THAT THE NUMBER 1 ENGINE OIL GAUGES INDICATED THE LOSS OF OIL QUANTITY AND OIL PRESSURE. THE FLIGHT CREW DIVERTED THE AIRCRAFT TO WICHITA, KS, MID-CONTINENT AIRPORT (ICT) AT 1054 LOCAL TIME, AND DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AFTER SHUTTING DOWN THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS LANDED WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT OR INJURY TO PERSONNEL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
