## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ACCORDING TO THE PILOT'S WRITTEN STATEMENT, HE ATTEMPTED A SOFT FIELD TAKEOFF FROM WIND SWEPT AIRPORT, WINDSOR, NH (23NH). THE WIND WAS CALM. AT APPROXIMATELY 55 KNOTS, THE TAKEOFF WAS ABORTED. THE RUNWAY SLOPES DOWNHILL AT THE AREA WHERE THIS OCCURRED, SO BRAKING WAS INADEQUATE TO STOP THE AIRPLANE. HE ENTERED THE WOODED AREA OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 30 KNOTS BY HIS ESTIMATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC06CA196](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC06CA196), Aug 5, 2006: Cessna 172N (N73672), Windsor, NH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delay in aborting the takeoff, which resulted in an overrun and subsequent collision with trees. A factor in the accident was the tailwind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
