## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT V1 SPEED DURING THE TAKEOFF RUN ON RUNWAY 17 OF THE SALINA AIRPORT (KSLN) THE CREW HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND FELT VIBRATION. THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO IMMEDIATELY DECELERATE AND VEER LEFT. THE CREW ABORTED THE TAKEOFF AND REGAINED SUFFICIENT DIRECTIONAL CONTROL TO RETURN THE AIRCRAFT TO THE RUNWAY CENTERLINE. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT SLOWED TO ABOUT 50 KNOTS, IT VEERED LEFT AGAIN. THE CREW SELECTED EMERGENCY BRAKING TO RESTORE BRAKING WITH LITTLE EFFECT. THE CREW THEN SECURED BOTH ENGINES AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY AT THE LEFT EDGE (SOUTH) AT ABOUT 40 KNOTS. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY 150 FEET LEFT OF RUNWAY 17 WITH A HEADING APPROXIMATELY 45 DEGREES LEFT OF THE RUNWAY HEADING. THE CREW EVACUATED THE AIRCRAFT OF ITS TWO PASSENGERS AND TWO CREWMEN WITHOUT INJURY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
