## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY ^ STATED HE WAS LANDING AT THE SKYMEADOWS AIRPORT (WN92) ON AUGUST 7, 2006. HE WAS LANDING TO THE SOUTH WITH A 4 TO 6 LEFT CROSSWIND THAT HAD A SLIGHT TAILWIND COMPONENT. UPON TOUCHDOWN ABOUT 1000 FEET FROM THE APPROACH END OF THE RUNWAY HE SAID THE AIRPLANE STARTED TO HYDROPLANE DUE TO A RECENTLY IRRIGATED RUNWAY. HE STATED THE TEMPERATURE WAS 94 DEGREES F. HE THOUGHT THE DENSITY ALTITUDE WAS AROUND 4000 FEET. HE DEPARTED THE RUNWAY AT AN ESTIMATED SPEED OF 2 KNOTS AND WENT THROUGH A WIRE FENCE. THE FENCING WIRE STARTED TO WRAP AROUND THE PROPELLER SLAPPING THE SIDE OF THE FUSELAGE. HE ALSO SAID HE HIT TWO FENCE POST CAUSING DAMAGE TO EACH OF THE OUTER WING AREAS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA06CA171](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA06CA171), Aug 7, 2006: Piper PA-23-250 (N6549A), Greenacres, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's selection of an unsuitable landing runway which resulted in a runway overrun and collision with a fence. A contributing factor was the wet runway condition.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
