## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE TAXIING TO RUNWAY 36 AT THE CHERRY RIDGE AIRPORT (N30) IN HONESDALE, PA, THE AIRCRAFT, OPERATED BY THE STUDENT, VEERED UNEXPECTEDLY TO THE RIGHT AND DEPARTED THE TAXIWAY. THE INSTRUCTOR TRIED TO INTERVENE AND PULLED THE MIXTURE CONTROL TO CUTOFF, STOPPING THE PROPELLER. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP AT APPROXIMATELY A 30 DEGREE NOSE DOWN POSITION. INVESTIGATION OF THE INCIDENT REVEALED THE PROPELLER (ONE BLADE) BENT INWARD AS A RESULT OF AIRCRAFT WEIGHT ON THE PROPELLER WHEN THE PROPELLER CONTACTED THE GROUND, THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS OF ROTATION. THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMAGE, AND NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
