## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT HAD AN ELECTRICAL SMELL OF BURNT PLASTIC COMING FROM THE OVERHEAD BLOWER VENTS WITH MINIMAL VISIBLE SMOKE THAT THE PAX COULD SMELL AND SEE IN THE CABIN. SMELL WAS MUCH STRONGER IN THE COCKPIT. CREW DECLARED EMERGENCY AND RETURNED TO CLE WITHOUT INCIDENT. JJBA CLE MAINTENANCE FOUND THAT A VENT BLOWER HAD FAILED. THIS ITEM WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED. THE DEFECTIVE UNIT WAS RETURNED TO THE PREVIOUS OVERHAUL SHOP FOR TEARDOWN AND FAILURE ANALYSIS PER JJBA FORM CA-60, MECHANICAL RELIABILITY REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
