## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON AUGUST 15, 2006 AT 0957L, N1121P, A 1929 ALEXANDER EAGLEROCK, MODEL A-2, LANDED ON RUNWAY 26 AT FTG. THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED DURING ROLL OUT. UPON TOUCH DOWN AT FTG, A GUSTY CROSSWIND WAS ENCOUNTERED AND THE PILOT OVERCORRECTED, CAUSING THE LEFT GEAR TO COLLAPSE DURING THE ROLL OUT. ON NOVEMBER 28, 2006 TWO FAA INSPECTORS MET WITH A CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE A MECHANICAL ISSUE WITH THE TAIL WHEEL ASSEMBLY THAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE INCIDENT. MECHANIC INSTRUCTED TO FILE THE M OR D REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
