## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON AUGUST 18, 2006 THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DAT^ WAS PRACTICING TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS AT THE GREELEY AIRPORT. AFTER DEPARTING THE GREELEY AIRPORT THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DAT^ TRIED TO PUT THE GEAR IN THE DOWN POSITION, BUT IT ONLY CAME DOWN PART WAY. HE CRANKED THE LANDING GEAR DOWN MANUALLY, BUT FAILED TO ENSURE THAT IT WAS ALL THE WAY DOWN. THE AIRCRAFT FLIGHT MANUAL STATES THAT IT TAKES APPROXIMATELY FIFTY TURNS TO COMPLETELY PUT THE GEAR ALL THE WAY DOWN. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DAT^ IS NOT SURE HOW MANY TIMES HE TURNED THE GEAR CRANK. HE LANDED AT THE FORT COLLINS DOWNTOWN AIRPORT AND THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED, THE AIRCRAFT SWERVED SIDEWAYS AND ONE OF THE MAIN GEARS ALSO COLLAPSED. THE PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED.

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19800111013269I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19800111013269I), Jan 11, 1980: Beech C35BEECH (N5982C), Cambridge, MD, Minor damage. Made downwind landing because of low fuel. Ran off runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
