## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PIC STATES, THAT HE WAS ARRIVING FROM THE SOUTHWEST AND RECEIVED N07, (CALDWELL AIRPORT) LANDING INFO AND SET UP FOR A RUNWAY 19 APPROACH. A STATIONAIR ADVISED THAT HE HAD JUST LANDED AND TO USE RUNWAY 01. THE PIC FURTHER STATES THAT HE CAME AROUND AND DID AN APPROACH TO RUNWAY 01. HE TOUCHED DOWN CLOSE TO THE NUMBERS, BUT BY MID-POINT OF THE RUNWAY HE WAS STILL MOVING RAPIDLY. AT THIS POINT HE DECIDED TO GO AROUND BUT FELT THAT HE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH RUNWAY REMAINING TO DO SO. HE STATES HE MADE A BEST EFFORT TO STOP BUT CAME TO REST IN A SOFT AREA JUST PAST THE RUNWAY END.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC06CA206](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC06CA206), Aug 20, 2006: Piper PA-34-200T (N19TP), Lincoln Park, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's misjudged distance/speed which resulted in an overrun. A factor in the accident was the soft terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
