## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED THAT WHILE CONDUCTING A MAINTENANCE HIGH SPEED TAXI RUN ON HIS LONG-EZ HOMEBUILT AIRCRAFT, N27LZ, THE RIGHT BRAKE CALIPER FAILED CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO LEAVE THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS AT APPROXIMATELY FORTY (40) KNOTS WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. THE AIRCRAFT PROCEEDED ACROSS THE GRASS AREA BETWEEN THE RUNWAY AND THE TAXIWAY THEN INTO A PARKING AREA WHERE THE LONG-EZ CAME IN CONTACT WITH A PARKED CESSNA 150, REGISTRATION NUMBER N46326. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING OF THE LONG-EZ AND THE VERTICAL TAIL ASSEMBLY OF THE CESSNA 150. WEATHER AND RUNWAY CONDITIONS WERE NOT A FACTOR IN THE INCIDENT. AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL WAS NOT A FACTOR IN THE INCIDENT. IT APPEARS THIS INCIDENT WAS CAUSED BY A MALFUNCTION OF AN AIRCRAFT PART. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
