## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE FLIGHT WAS FROM ASH TO HFD. A 3000 FOOT CRUISE ALTITUDE WAS UTILIZED WITH THE ENGINE LEANED TO PEAK FOR 17GPH. A DESCENT WAS MADE TO 1500 FEET NEAR HFD AND THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO ACHIEVE POWER TO STOP HIS DESCENT THROUGH 1500 FEET. HE SELECTED TREES, OVER A CROWDED HIGHWAY, AS A FORCED LANDING AREA. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED UPON LANDING, THE PILOT RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC06LA219](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC06LA219), Sep 7, 2006: Beech F33A (N3708B), South Windsor, CT, substantial damage. Probable cause: A loosening of the fuel injector lines from the fuel manifold valve, which resulted in a partial loss of engine power.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
