## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ENGINE WAS LEFT RUNNING WITH PARKING BRAKE SET (NO CHOCKS, NO TIE-DOWNS) WHILE THE PILOT USED A RESTROOM ADJACENT TO THE PARKING SPOT. WHILE INDISPOSED THE PILOT HEARD THE BRAKE RELEASE AND THE ENGINE NOISE CHANGE AS THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED AWAY UNDER ITS OWN POWER. THE PLANE TAXIED THROUGH A DIP NEAR THE RUNUP AREA CAUSING A CHANGE IN DIRECTION AND A POWER INCREASE. THE PLANE TORE THROUGH THE CHAIN LINK AIRPORT PERIMETER FENCE, TAXIED THROUGH AN INTERSECTION OF ROADS, THEN WAS STOPPED AS IT RAN INTO AN ALMOND ORCHARD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX06TA291](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX06TA291), Sep 12, 2006: Cessna U206G (N6238U), Wasco, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper decision in leaving the engine running while he left the airplane unattended.

## Other reports on N6238U (1)

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
