## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DAT^ LANDED AT KCIC WITH AN UNSAFE LANDING GEAR INDICATION. NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED ON ROLLOUT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO EITHER THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DAT^ OR HIS PASSENGER. INSPECTION OF AIRCRAFT WAS ACCOMPLISHED AT NORTH STATE AVIATION, CHICO, CALIFORNIA. FINDINGS WERE THAT THE ENGINE MOUNT HAD BROKEN AT THE LOOP WHERE THE STEERING BELLCRANK (SEE ATTACHED DIAGRAMS). THIS CAUSED THE STEERING BELLCRANK TO SAG, CAUSING THE NOSE GEAR TO FAIL TO COMPLETE THE EXTENSION CYCLE TO THE DOWN AND LOCKED POSITION. A REVIEW OF THE MAINTENANCE RECORDS WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITH NO SIGNIFICANT FINDINGS. THIS REPORT WILL BE AMENDED AS NEEDED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
