(-23) ON OCTOBER 1, 2006, N1920E, A CESSNA 340A, LANDED AT GLACIER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WITH THE NOSE LANDING GEAR IN THE 'UP' POSITION. THE MAIN LANDING GEAR HAD EXTENDED PROPERLY. THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND HOLDS AN AIR TRANSPORT PILOT RATING, AND THE SECOND PILOT HOLDS A CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR RATING. EXAMINATION OF THE AIRCRAFT'S NOSE LANDING GEAR REVEALS THAT THE NOSE GEAR BELLCRANK HAD FAILED AT THE FORK BOLT. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE HEARD A LOUD NOISE DURING GEAR EXTENSION PHASE WHILE EXECUTING AN ILS APPROACH TO GLACIER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.
