## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT ATTEMPTED ENGINE START ON LEFT HAND ENGINE (#1). REPORTED THAT N1 AND N2 ROTOR SPEEDS APPEARED NORMAL. AS ENGINE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE, PILOT OBSERVED ABNORMAL READING OF ENGINE EXHAUST TEMPERATURE AS IT ROSE TO 900 DEGREES. PILOT ABORTED START SEQUENCE BY DISENGAGING THE START SWITCH WHICH PRODUCED NO NOTICEABLE RESULTS. PROCEEDED TO MOVE POWER LEVER TO IDLE CUTOFF, SHUTTING OFF THE FUEL AT THE ENGINE. PILOT COMPLETED WITH COMPLETE SHUTDOWN OF AIRCRAFT FUEL BOOST PUMPS AND ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. PASSENGERS AND CREW EVACUATED AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
