## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT DEPARTED RUNWAY 5 FROM A NORMALLY WESTERLY WIND DIRECTION, ALTHOUGH STATED THAT THE WINDS WERE CALM. HE ROTATED AND STRUCK THE REAR MOUNTED WOODEN PROPELLER ON THE RUNWAY, REMOVING AN APPROXIMATE 6-8 INCHES OF PROPELLER TIP FROM EACH BLADE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT ABLE TO CLIMB SUFFICIENTLY AND CLEARED A ROW OF BRUSH AND TREES OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY, DESCENDING INTO THE SOY BEAN FIELD JUST BEYOND THE TREES, APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET AWAY. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON BOTH MAIN GEAR AND THEN NOSED OVER AS THE NOSE GEAR SANK DEEPLY INTO THE VERY SOFT FIELD. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IN AN INVERTED POSITION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC07CA002](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC07CA002), Oct 7, 2006: Cutler VariEze (N46RC), Perkasie, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's excessive rotation on takeoff, which resulted in a propeller blade strike, and subsequent forced landing to a field.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
