## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT DEPARTED PORTLAND (PLD) INDIANA ON 10/17/2006, TO POSITION FOR A REVENUE CARGO FLIGHT. UPON GEAR RETRACTION, THE LANDING GEAR MOTOR "BOGGED DOWN" AND A LOUD BANG WAS HEARD AND FELT THROUGH THE PILOT SEAT. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO EXTEND TEH LANDING GEAR BOTH ELECTRICALLY AND MANUALLY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS LANDED WITH THE NOSE GEAR IN THE RETRACTED POSITION. UPON AIRCRAFT RECOVERY, A CLEVIS PIN FOR THE RIGHT PUSH-PULL TUBE FOR THE NOSE LANDING GEAR DOOR OPERATION WAS FOUND MISSING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
