## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT 1945Z N595PE DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH ZLA CENTER. THEY REPORTED T/R UNLOCK LIGHT AND SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT AND REQUESTED TO RETURN TO VAN NUYS AIRPORT. VICTORVILLE AND PALMDALE AIRPORTS WERE IN A CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE ROUTE FLOWN BACK TO VNY AND WERE CONSIDERED AS AN OPTION FOR LANDING. AT 2010Z N595PE MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING AT VAN NUYS AIRPORT WITHOUT ANY FURTHER INCIDENT. REFERRED TO OPERATION FOR POSSIBLE FAR VIOLATION. NO ISSUES FOUND AFTER REVIEW BY OPERATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
