## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 10/27/2006, THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMI^ WAS OPERATING AS PILOT IN COMMAND OF N56MB, A CESSNA 310 ON A FLIGHT FROM JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT IN CA TO HII. UPON ATTEMPTING TO LAND AT HII THE PILOT IN COMMAND HEARD A LOUD NOISE CLOSE TO THE RUNWAY AND WENT AROUND. HE STATED THAT HE WAS HAVING TROUBLE STAYING IN THE AIR AND DID A TEARDROP PATTERN BACK TO THE RUNWAY. UPON LANDING HE SLID OFF THE RUNWAY ABOUT 100 YARDS. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO BOTH PROPS, THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR FOLDED, THE RIGHT UNDERSIDE OF THE TIP TANK HAD SCRAPE MARKS ON IT.
