## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THIS OFFICE RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM DFW ATCT INFORMING THAT UPS MD-11 HAD STRUCK ITS TAIL UPON LANDING AT DFW. THREE GEOGRAPHIC INSPECTORS FROM THIS OFFICE INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT. AFT LOWER FUSELAGE HAD EVIDENCE OF SCRAPING ON THE RUNWAY. AFT LOWER VHF ANTENNA AND AFT DRAIN MAST WERE BENT AND WRINKLED. THERE DID NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY FRAME STRUCTURAL DAMAGE FROM TEH EXTERIOR OF THE AIRCRAFT. NO WING TIP DAMAGE NOTED. WE CHECKED CAPTAINS CERTIFICATE AND MEDICAL FOR CURRENCY AND PRESENCE. (FIRST OFFICER HAD LEFT THE AIRPORT PRIOR TO OUR CHECKING CERTIFICATE OR MEDICAL). ^PRIVACY DATA ^ CALLED AND ASKED ONE OF THE OTHER INSPECTORS WHAT WE WERE GOING TO QUESTION THE CAPTAIN ABOUT AND SAID THEY HAD PROCEDURES AND WANTED TO KNOW IF THE COMPANY COULD GET THE INFORMATION. WE AGREED. WE CHECKED THE AIRCRAFT LOGBOOK ENTRIES, AND LEFT THE AREA. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
