As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING THE LANDING PHASE, PILOT LOST CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT JUST BEFORE TOUCHDOWN. AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED PILOT INDUCED OSCILLATIONS NEAR THE GROUND, AND WHEN THE TAIL STRUCK THE GROUND IT SEPARATED FROM THE FUSELAGE JUST AHEAD OF THE VERTICAL STABILIZER. PILOT RECEIVED NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX07CA036](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX07CA036), Nov 15, 2006: Burkhart Grob Flugzeugbau G103 Twin Astir (N4115M), Tucson, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper use of the spoilers during the landing flare, which resulted in a hard landing, and his inadequate bounced landing recovery technique.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
