## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS A STUDENT PILOT ON HIS FIRST SOLO, FIRST LANDING. HE HAD TWO DUAL FLIGHTS THAT DAY AND WAS RELEASED FOR A SUPERVISED SOLO AT NEW SMYRNA BEACH AIRPORT ON RUNWAY 2. IT WAS REPORTED FROM EYE WITNESS THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED TWICE AND THEN NOSED INTO THE RUNWAY (CLEAR SKYS AND LIGHT WINDS). THIS CAUSED THE NOSE TO COLLAPSE AND BENT BOTH PROPELLERS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA07CA019](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA07CA019), Nov 19, 2006: Cessna 172S (N53095), New Smyrna, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's improper recovery from a bounced landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
