THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT LEAVING A LEFT MAIN GEAR SKID MARK IN TRAIL. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED FOR A DISTANCE OF TWO HUNDRED YARDS. DURING THE CONTINUED FORWARD MOTION, THE AIRCRAFT RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR CONTACTED A DRAINAGE CULVERT WHICH CAUSED A LANDING GEAR SEPARATION FROM THE AIRFRAME. THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR STRUT WAS FORCED UP INTO THE RIGHT WING CAUSING CONSIDERABLE STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED ITS FORWARD MOTION ONTO, SUBSEQUENTLY OVER AND SLIGHTLY PAST THE INTERSECTING RUNWAY 21 PRIOR TO COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ CONTACTED THE KESTREL AVIATION FIXED BASE OPERATOR AND LEFT AN AFTER HOURS MESSAGE REGARDING THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX07CA044](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX07CA044), Nov 23, 2006: Piper PA-28-180 (N4925L), Springerville, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's inadequate compensation for the crosswind condition and failure to maintain directional control during landing. A factor was the crosswind.

## Other reports on N4925L (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19800724062959I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19800724062959I), Jul 24, 1980: Piper PA28180 (N4925L), Corsicana, TX, Minor damage. Aircraft veered left during takeoff. Ran off runway and damaged nose gear.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
