## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON NOVEMBER 24, 2006 THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A STUDENT PILOT WAS ON A SOLO CROSS-COUNTRY FLIGHT FROM THE DALLES, OREGON BACK TO KENNEWICK, WASHINGTON IN N6141G, A CESSNA 150. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA^ WAS NOT ON A FAA FLIGHT PLAN, AND HAD NOT RECEIVED A FAA FLIGHT SERVICE WEATHER BRIEFING PRIOR TO DEPARTING THE DALLES, OREGON. WHEN INTERVIEWED, THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA^ SAID HE HAD FLOWN THROUGH "A FEW SNOW SQUALLS" ON THIS PARTICULAR FLIGHT AND ESTIMATED THE CEILING FROM 1000 TO 1500 FEET AGL. THE AIRCRAFT HAD EXPERIENCED A DECREASE IN POWER AT ONE POINT THAT WAS CORRECTED WITH THE APPLICATION OF CARBURETOR HEAT. AS THE FLIGHT CONTINUED THE ENGINE ABRUPTLY STOPPED IN FLIGHT. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA^ PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY LANDING INTO AN IRRIGATED FARM FIELD LOCATED NEAR THE COLUMBIA RIVER, AND THE COLUMBIA CREST WINERY. NO INJURIES RESULTED DUE TO THIS EMERGENCY LANDING, AND MINOR AIRCRAFT DAMAGE WAS LIMITED TO THE AIRCRAFT'S NOSE GEAR, AND COWLINGS. A POST INCIDENT INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE ENGINE RESTARTED, AND OPERATED NORMALLY AT THE EMERGENCY LANDING SITE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
