## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY ^ CONDUCTED AN AUTHORIZED SOLO CROSS COUNTRY OPERATION FROM HANNIBAL, MO TO CREVE COUER AIRPORT (K1H0). UPON RETURNING TO CREVE COUER AIRPORT, HE PROCEEDED TO PERFORM SOME PRACTICE LANDINGS. AS HE MADE HIS FINAL LANDING OF THE SOLO TRAINING SESSION, HE INADVERTENTLY VEERED TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY TO AN EXTENT THAT THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN A GROUND LOOP. UPON INITIATING ITS SPIN, THE AIRCRAFT'S LEFT WING CONTACTED THE GROUND CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE WING TIP AND RIB. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY ^ WAS NOT INJURED. THE WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR THAT DAY WERE WITHIN THE PARAMETERS SET BY THE PILOT'S ^PRIVACY D^ FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR. ADDITIONALLY, HE HAD RECEIVED THE APPROPRIATE LOGBOOK ENDORSEMENTS AND LOGGED FLIGHT TRAINING RELATING TO THE IDIOSYNCRASIES OF OPERATING CONVENTIONAL GEARED AIRPLANES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI07CA030](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI07CA030), Nov 26, 2006: Aviat A-1B (N74HP), St Louis, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing which resulted in the wing striking the ground during the inadvertent ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
