## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS A COMPILATION OF WRITTEN STATEMENTS AND INTERVIEW OF THE PIC ^PRIVACY DATA O^ AND COPILOT ^PRIVACY DATA O^. AIRCRAFT N26FN WAS PERFORMING MULTIPLE PROFILE RUNS WITH ANOTHER LEARJET #1 IN SUPPORT OF (MARINE CORP. TECHNICAL SUPPORT SYSTEM ACTIVITY) MCTSSA. AFTER THE FIRST RUN, N26FN WAS AT 23,000 FEET AND LEARJET #2 WAS AT 24,000 FEET. LEARJET #1 WENT INTO A LEFT HAND TURN AS N26FN CLOSED TO A TRAIL POSITION THAT WAS PUTTING LEARJET #1 DIRECTLY INTO THE SUN. N26FN STARTED WHAT WAS PERCEIVED AS A SLIGHT RIGHT HAND TURN AT 270 KIAS. THE PIC OF N26FN STATED THAT THE HORIZON WAS HAZY AND WITH THE SUN ANGLE COULD NOT DISCERN LEARJET #1 ALTITUDE. AT THAT TIME THE PIC WENT HEAD DOWN TO CHECK HIS GYRO BUT WAS BLINDED BY THE SUN. THE FIRST OFFICER ASKED THE PIC "DO YOU WANT TO BE DOING THIS" AND PIC REPLIED NO. THE PIC REGAINED HIS SITUATIONAL AWARENESS AND THAT TIME AIRCRAFT N26FN WAS IN WHAT WAS ESTIMATED 50-60 DEGREE NOSE DOWN, 70-90 DEGREE RIGHT WING DOWN, 380 KIAS AND AN ESTIMATED MACH OF .85 TO .86. DURING THE DIVE, THE AIRCRAFT WAS DEFINITELY SHUDDERING. POWER PULLED BACK TO IDLE, WINGS ROLLED LEVEL AND STARTED A PULL UP WITH A PERCEIVED LOW G FORCE TO LEVEL.
