## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIING FOR DEPARTURE FOR RETURN TRIP TO PTK. THE PILOT WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A SECOND ROUND TRIP, FROM PTK, DELIVERING CHARITY CHRISTMAS GIFTS. AFTER TURNING TO ENTER TAXIWAY, THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO STOP. THE AIRCRAFT'S FAILURE TO ACQUIRE A WEATHER BRIEF PRIOR TO FLIGHT LEFT HIM UNPREPARED FOR WINDY CONDITIONS. A STRONG WIND WAS BLOWING FROM AFT OF THE AIRCRAFT WHEN THE PILOT APPLIED BRAKES. THE UNEXPECTED STRONG TAIL WIND AT THE SAME TIME AS APPLICATION OF BRAKES COMBINED TO TIP THE AIRCRAFT NOSE OVER. THE TAIL ROSE UNTIL THE PROPELLER CONTACTED THE TAXIWAY SURFACE CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STOP.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
