## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA^ WAS PRACTICING TOUCH AND GOS ON RUNWAY 26 AT 3CK - THE LAKE IN THE HILLS AIRPORT. HE TOUCHED DOWN LEFT OF THE CENTERLINE, WITH THE WIND AT 240 DEGREES AT 11 KNOTS. HE RAISED THE FLAPS AND APPLIED FULL POWER. THE LEFT MAIN GEAR STRUCK A SNOW BANK ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT PIVOTED LEFT FOLLOWED BY THE NOSE WHEEL STRIKING THE SNOWBANK. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST INVERTED. NO INJURIES REPORTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI07LA034](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI07LA034), Dec 8, 2006: Cessna 172R (N913MA), Lake in the Hil, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The directional control not maintained/obtained by the pilot, and the lack of recent experience by the pilot. The snow bank was a contributing factor.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
