## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APPROACH, AN EXTENSION OF THE FLAPS WAS INITIATED WITH NO RESULT (ZERO DEGREES) IN FLAP TRAVEL. SUSPECTING A PROBLEM WITH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ATTEMPTED TO EXTEND THE MAIN LANDING GEAR, WHICH RESULTED IN NO ACTION, THUS CONFIRMING A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FAILLURE. THE PILOT THEN ACTIVATED THE COMPRESSED CO2 EMERGENCY GEAR EXTENSION SYSTEM. THE RESULT OF THIS PROCEDURE WAS A COMPLETE, AND INDICATED, EXTENSION OF BOTH THE NOSE AND L/H MAIN LANDING GEAR ASSEMBLIES, WITH A PARTIAL, NON-INDICATED, EXTENSION OF THE R/H MAIN LANDING GEAR. DURING A FLY-BY IT WAS WITNESSED BY GROUND PERSONNEL THAT THE R/H GEAR DOORS WERE OPENED AND THE GEAR ASSEMBLY WAS STILL IN THE GEAR WELL. UPON FINAL APPROACH THE ENGINES WERE SHUT DOWN, AND PROPELLERS FULLY FEATHERED. THE PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT ON THE NOSE AND L/H MAIN LANDING GEAR, UNTIL THE AIRSPEED BLED OFF RESULTING IN THE AIRCRAFT STEP AND R/H WING TIP STRIKING THE RUNWAY. THIS CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO MAKE AN UNCONTROLLABLE RIGHT HAND TURN, ENTERING THE GRASS, STRIKING A RUNWAY RECONG LIGHT, ROTATING 120 DEGREES AND COMING TO REST APPROXIMATELY 150 FEET FROM THE RIGHT HAND EDGE OF THE RUNWAY. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
