## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED: HE DEPARTED IFR FROM ATW ENROUTE TO GBD, THE ENTIRE OPERATION WAS NORMAL UNTIL TOUCHDOWN ON RUNWAY 33. THE RUNWAY WAS COVERED WITH BLACK-ICE WHICH WAS NOT DETECTABLE UNTIL THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON THE RUNWAY. AS THE PILOT APPLIED THE BRAKES HE DISCOVERED BRAKING ACTION WAS NIL. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ALLOWED TO COAST DOWN THE RUNWAY TO A STOP, AS APPLYING THE BRAKES WOULD HAVE AGGRAVATED THE SITUATION FURTHER. AS A RESULT OF BRAKING ACTION NIL THE AIRCRAFT WENT OFF THE END OF RUNWAY 33 AND ONTO THE GRASS, COMING TO REST IN A FIELD.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
