## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER DEPARTURE FROM GILLESPIE FIELD IN EL CAJON, CA, THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED AN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE AND HE RETURNED TO THE AIRPORT FOR LANDING. ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH ELECTRICAL POWER TO OPERATE THE LANDING GEAR AND THAT THE GEAR WAS EXTENDED USING EMERGENCY GEAR EXTENSION PROCEDURES. UPON LANDING ROLL-OUT, THE NOSE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE GROUND. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED AND THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
