## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PIC (PILOT IN COMMAND) RECEIVED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO RUNWAY 09 VIA TAXIWAY ECHO. THE PIC ASKED FOR AND RECEIVED PERMISSION TO CROSS RUNWAY 05/23. THE PIC TAXIED THE AIRCRAFT OFF THE TAXIWAY ONTO THE GRASS AND STRUCK AN AIRPORT SIGN, SHUTDOWN THE ENGINE THEN CALLED GROUND CONTROL TO REPORT THE INCIDENT. ACCORDING TO THE CONTROLLER STATEMENT, THE PIC THEN ADVISED HE COULD GET BACK ON THE TAXIWAY. WHEN ASKED IF HE HAD HIT ANYTHING, THE PIC REPORTED HE HAD NOT AND WAS OK. THE PIC ASKED FOR AND ACCEPTED A TAKEOFF CLEARANCE, ABORTED THE TAKEOFF, TAXIED BACK TO THE RAMP AND DISCOVERED PROPELLER DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
