## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT REPORTED THAT DURING THE LANDING ROLL THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION OF THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR SYSTEM DISCLOSED THAT THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER BOTTOM ATTACH POINT (FORK) BROKE. (-23 AMENDMENT) ON 02/20/2007, ^PRIVACY DATA^ FROM NTSB TELEPHONED THIS OFFICE TO REQUEST THAT WE AMEND FAA FORM 8020-23 TO REVISE THE ACCIDENT NUMBER THAT THEY ORIGINALLY ASSIGNED TO N477EM. THE ACCIDENT NUMBER WAS REVISED FROM NYC07LA057 TO NYC07CA057.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC07CA057](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC07CA057), Jan 18, 2007: Foley James Searey (N477EM), Danbury, CT, substantial damage. Probable cause: Collapse of the left main landing gear due to previous damage. A factor in the accident was the inadequate annual condition inspection.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
